N Chandrasekaran or N Chandra as he is popularly known is a Tamil Brahmin (caste).

N Chandra was born in a typical Tam – Bram (Tamil Brahmin) family in small town Tamil Nadu in 1963. As a child, N Chandra was very studious and excelled in Mathematics.

His claim to fame begins with being appointed as one of the youngest CEOs in Tata Group – India’s largest business conglomerate. He undertook the responsibility of running India’s largest IT company and not only has he retained the numero uno position but also added value to TCS in all aspects – in employee count, revenue, earnings & market reach.

He also has the distinction of receiving honorary doctorates from several business institutions globally such as – JNTU Hyderabad, Nyenrode University Netherlands, etc. Some of the awards that N Chandra has received are – CNN – IBN Indian of the Year 2015, NDTV Business Leader of the Year, BT CEO of the Year, etc

As the CEO of TCS, he is ever smiling and ever ready to meet customers. Chandra’s leadership has redefined TCS to become a more customer centric organisation. His drive as a leader has also led to emergence of several new opportunities in the technology industry which makes TCS the market leader that it is today.

N Chandra is passionate about new technology (obviously) & books in the genres of fiction, politics & business. His other notable interest is that he is a marathon runner! Till date he has run over 8 marathons globally. No wonder TCS is one of the lead sponsors for many marathon events that happen globally. His interests also include photography and music.

Satya Nadella has been with Microsoft for over 20 years and been part of various cutting edge technologies including Online Services, Servers, Enterprise Databases, Cloud, etc. We believe his success at each of his appointed roles must have been outstanding. Which is why Microsoft Corporation promoted Satya to be its CEO in 2013 replacing Steve Ballmer.

Satya has his work cut out for him as Microsoft faces competition in Search, Mobile, Cloud & other emerging technologies. His recent initiative to make Windows mobile free of cost shows that Mobile is an area where Microsoft intends to be very aggressive in gaining market share.

Satya is married to Anupama and they have three kids. The Nadella family stays in Washington State, USA. In his personal life, Satya is known to be cricket fan. His success was celebrated in his village near Hyderabad.

Quite astonishingly Microsoft has had only 3 CEOs till date – Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer & now Satya Nadella. I am sure those are big boots that he has to fill in!

Ravi Shankar was born Robindro Shaunkor Chowdhary in 1920 in Varanasi. He spent the first decade of his life in Varanasi with his mother and the next in Europe – mainly Paris with his brother Uday Shankar and his dance group. The next 7 years he spent learning Indian classical music with his guru, Baba Allaudin Khan at Maihar, MP in India.

Ravi Shankar composed music for several Indian films notably the Apu trilogy and worked as music director for All India Radio before beginning his international career – playing on the sitar for small audiences around the world and educating them about Indian classical music. He managed to conjure much-deserved recognition and appreciation for the Indian variety of classical music.

A few among his personal accomplishments include the top 3 Indian civil honours, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, 3 Grammys and 14 honorary doctorates. He was knighted by Elizabeth II for his services to music and given the Legion of Honour by the French Govt. He was also the recipient of the first Tagore Award.

In 2005, during his stint at the International Monetary Fund, Dr. Raghuram Rajan was notable in his work which spoke of an impending global economic crises. His work came to be seen as a prescient in the aftermath of the economic crises of 2008.

Dr. Rajan has been awarded the Fischer Black Prize & the Deutsche Bank Prize for Financial Economics for his research work.

Dr Raghuram Rajan is known for his conservative and balanced views of the economy. He is very optimistic of the Indian economy and has plans to bring back 8% growth rate in India.

NRN as he is commonly known is the founder of Infosys Ltd, a $7 billion (2013) software company employing over 1,60,000 employees in India. He founded Infosys in Pune in the year 1983 and later relocated the head office to Bangalore. As on date Infosys has over 87 software development centres of which 32 are in India and the rest are outside India.
